Experience (BIO)

I am an experienced mediator having successfully mediated over 50 cases. Many people don't realize they do not have to go to court to settle their differences. Whether those differences involve a divorce, custody, support, civil matters, property matters, etc. The majority of the time it is a matter of not being able to communicate with the other party in a way that results in an agreement that works for both sides. My job is to facilitate those communications so that each person can determine their own outcome without a third party (often a judge) doing it for them. I believe that the client knows their situation better than anyone else; thus, they are better equipped to make decisions regarding their situation. This is especially important in divorce and family law cases where children are involved. Mediation is a gift to the children in these cases, as they do not have to watch their parents battle it out in court.

I work in the areas of mediation: family law, civil, civil harassment, small claims, and stepfamilies, to name a few. I have had over 100 hours of mediation training, including: 32 hours of basic mediation, 40 hours of divorce mediation, 12 hours of advanced training for civil harassment mediation, 10 hour advanced brush up course, 14 hours of foreclosure training and various workshops involving mediation.
