I am a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. I enjoy helping people resolve their complex divorce and custody cases that I have focused upon since 1993.
My involvement with the SC Family Law and ABA Family Law Sections has enhanced my law practice in numerous ways. Connecting with attorneys around the country benefits my clients and mebecause I am able to collaborate with colleagues who are leading family law practitioners, authors, and even law makers whose sole focus is upon complex family law issues.
Speaking and writing about family law has also enriched my knowledge of the subject. Through preparing for and researching the issues pertinent to my practice, I keep abreast of updates and breakthroughs in the law, which ultimately enables me to save my clients money because I am familiar with most of the issues they face. Therefore, I typically do not spend hours researching the law except in unique situations. I love practicing family law and helping my clients through this very difficult time in their lives with the goal of keeping each client's assets and sanity intact!
Our firm also understands the unique challenges surrounding complex cases, and utilize systems and procedures to cut costs without sacrificing the quality of our work. Our case load is limited to remain committed, focused and available to each client. In addition, duties are distributed to the member best equipped to perform a task at the least expense to the client. Finally, every client signs a commitment to become an active participant so they, too, are an integral part of our team.
Use of Technology:
We take a novel approach to the use of technology in the family court arena. When preparing a client's case, we use multiple software programs to create timelines, strategy plans, alimony projections, child support calculations, asset division planning, and trial exhibit illustrations, to simplify complex matters into understandable visuals. This approach enables us to assist mediators, experts and the courts to grasp many facts at once by painting a picture that illustrates the unique nature of the client's case.
Experts & Other Legal Support Professionals:
We work closely with an extensive network of experts and legal support professionals to provide access to resources that best protect our clients' interests. Such professionals include, but are not limited to: contract attorneys; forensic divorce accountants; certified public accountants; business valuation experts; forensic computer specialists; real estate appraisers; licensed private detectives; psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, counselors, custody evaluators and physicians; certified vocational specialists; court reporters; process servers; guardians ad litem; and technology experts.
We aim to provide superior legal services to each client to help
successfully cross the threshold to a new life.
